Has anyone ever physically gone to St. Louis City Hall to replace a birth certificate, how long did it take?
I’m in need of a replacement birth certificate fast, when I go to St. Louis City Hall Department of Vital Records, how long it will take to get one replaced? Has anyone ever taken this route to replace their birth certificate? I read that in VA you can walk in and receive your birth certificate the same day you apply for it, just not sure how it works in St. Louis. Also has anyone ever used one of the online services to expedite a birth certificate?
It takes about 15 minutes tops and you have your certified copy. St. Louis county will also provide city birth records. We have had to get them for our children to get passports within the past month. The offices are only open M-F from 8-5 so you will have to take off work to get there during the week. Lunch hours tend to be a bit more crowded. On line services will keep you from taking off work but take longer and if you want expedited service you will have to pay for it.
I went into work late and stopped by in the morning when they first opened.

How do you go about getting married at a city hall or court? I have no clue on where to even start looking for information.
Go to the county courthouse of the county you live in. Ask to speak to the clerk of court or ask at information desk and they will point you in the right direction. They will be able to tell you if you have to get marriage license a certain no. of days before the ceremony. They will advise officiant and time you want to get married. You usually take two witnesses, best man and maid of honor or whomever. It is up to each different officiant as to what he will allow following/during the ceremony, pictures, if members of immediate family can attend, etc. You will need to talk to officiant or his secretary before hand to see what he allows. In a big city, there may be many couples waiting to get married so this will be a factor in his allowing photos, etc. Hubby to be can wear what he wants, but since this is the most special day of your lives, I like a suit with a boutienerre and for bride a nice white or creamy colored suit, dress or some brides even wear tea length wedding gowns and carry a small bouquet or have flowers in their hair. I would recommend this as at some point in the future you will wish you had a few photos of this special time and ask officiant to be in one picture, maybe it will make him be in a good mood. Ha. I believe you will need to take the OC line at Norwalk. Take that to Union Station. Then take the Metro Red Line to Civic Center.

When relocating to another city in another state, is it better to write and request information by writing to the City Hall of the city or writing to the Chamber of Commerce of the city to request printed information about the city that you are interested in relocating to?
Usually the Chamber of Commerce has information on the city. The City Hall might also have information, but I would start with the Chamber. They tend to have more information, as this is what they specialize in.
