Many thanks for … Many thanks for this. I never got to see the lads at the city hall, but they did make the best band that toured scotland ever, Sorry Runrig,
My first ever … My first ever concert was a Lindisfarne concert, when i was 7 or 8, at Portsmouth Guildhall. I didn’t really appreciate it, i just went cos my dad loved them and i wanted to join in and see what all the fuss was about.
Listening to this now, and ‘Fog on the Tyne’ and also ‘ Lady Eleanor’, i have to say, i should have appreciated it more! not that i’ll ever admit it to my dad, but hey – it reminds me of my childhood!
The Beatles and … The Beatles and Stones have nothing on these guys, the best band ever, the beatles were / are over rated crap, these guys should have been there not a bunch of knobs like the Beatles .
First heard “Fog on … First heard “Fog on the Tyne” in ‘72 on an “underground” station here in Chicago at about 2:00AM and never looked back. Brilliant is an understatement….
Saw them at Chelsea … Saw them at Chelsea village Bournemouth 1978 Chris Rea support, few people turned up…didn’t deter this band they were Brilliant ..best party I’ve ever been to..
Just dragged out my … Just dragged out my Lindisfarne Songbook. Looking the worse for wear after 37 years and still stained where the cat on it in 74. She’s Long gone and so is Alan but the songs still shine. Time to murder them again. Salutations to all who are enjoying this great band.
Never been to … Never been to Newcastle but this Band is Incredible,I’m a fan for 35 years give or take, from Ireland an always love this magic music,Rock on th Geordies.
RIP Sir Bobby,I saw him at Lansdowne rd.
This brings back … This brings back some many great memories and goosebumps. Christmas concerts at the City Hall just fantastic. Never enjoyed any concerts better than this, cheers Lads!!!
My parents were at … My parents were at this concert and when it was played over the radio they taped it, unfortunately the tape is now chewed and gone, does anyone know where I can find more of this concert in video or audio?
Met 4 geordie lads … Met 4 geordie lads here in London at a wedding a few weeks ago. What great lads with an amazing sense of humour and we talked about this band. Not many bands to match them.
