    Many people might …
Many people might have turned this event into a drama-circus. Good on both sides for being adult about it. Seems to me that this sort of conversation should be held by everyone on a regular basis. Whether the government is recognized or not, an informed community that holds constructive discussions is in everyone’s favour.

    There is a reason …
There is a reason videos like this only get 1300 views, its because you’re in the minority. This Ian guy is pure comedy and seems to always be upset.

    @gman044 agreed!

  4. tegid699 Says:

    @063067 this is one …
@063067 this is one of the most important things I have ever seen! it is about individual liberty

  5. 063067 Says:

    Do these people …
Do these people work? I’d like to see them spend their time and resources on something more important, like getting better programs at the local tax funded college instead of funding a sports complex. Or perhaps mitigating the coming energy crisis caused by global oil and resource depletion.

  6. mozartgenetics Says:

    This is amazing. I …
This is amazing. I am so proud of these young men. Thank you for doing this.

  7. gman044 Says:

    I am impressed that …
I am impressed that this bureaucrat took the time to speak to Ian. Ian handled himself well and professionally, but most of these bureaucrats would duck the tough questions…this guy deserves his props for debating the points with Ian.

  8. Superlibertytv Says:

    Sacrifice the one …
Sacrifice the one for the common good of the majority! I think that’s called socialism last time I checked. Actually the constitution protects individual’s inherent rights to Life, Liberty and Property regardless of the majority will of those who participate. That is the difference between a Republic and a Democracy. A Democracy is dangerous and violent because the majority abridge the rights of the individual for its own selfish reasons and results in no tranquility or peace in a community.

  9. anthonybjr Says:

    I dunno… I guess …
I dunno… I guess all of these city services are revenue generators for the local guvments

  13. inertia186 Says:

    Not that Ian needs …
Not that Ian needs anyone sticking up for him, but that’s a very rude thing to say.

  14. ScalerWave Says:

    We are all created …
We are all created equal except when one gets a job with the “government” then that one becomes more equal than everyone else.

Heh, not only do you have to pay them a tax on the value of your home, you have to pay it again each year or they will send armed men to remove you from “your” home.

That makes perfect sense….. to serfs in medieval England.

  15. mostradicalmanever Says:

    I am pleased that …
I am pleased that this was a conversation instead of a confrontation. You guys actually had an amiable discussion with a nice man.

I wish i counted the number of times that he said “the common good is served” and “welfare of the community”.

This type of activism is way more effective than violence!

Keep it up guys. I am proud of you!

  16. DeraJa Says:

    you are all my …
    you are all my heros!

  17. Livingfishguy Says:

    In the situation …
In the situation where he described the house on fire threatening the houses around it, if any of the houses around it were covered by fire service the fire service would have put the fire out before it spread in order to minimize loss to the clients house. Fire service would most likely be provided as part of an insurance policy, the insurance company would be extremely foolish to just let their clients house burn to the ground because they would have to pay for the damage.

  18. synthpopclassics Says:

    we need alternative …
    we need alternative services. competition

  19. synthpopclassics Says:

    your gay uncle
    your gay uncle

  20. jcwerner Says:

    Evolved? I think it …
Evolved? I think it devolved. This is the old system of Tyranny. The Evolution happened in 1776 when we decided the individual would be free form extortion and the whims and fears of the masses.

  21. AnarchoJesse Says:

    That dude that used …
That dude that used the “Not contractually obligated” argument is pretty hot. Who is he?

  22. SuperAtheist Says:

    two more questions …
    two more questions to ask:

why do you pay more for these services if your property is worth more?

why is the appraised value of the property significantly higher than market value?

  23. IOBright Says:

LOL at the end, “Ah …
LOL at the end, “Ah, which I don’t give you permission for!”

  24. anthonybjr Says:

    The guy was …
The guy was ansering the same way all the time… This guy is a douchebag… Acting all nice, it’s for the common good! What a bunch of crock. The city attourney sounded like a class a arse….

  25. rataMacue22 Says:

    If the ambulance …
If the ambulance service is a community service paid for by taxes, why the *&#$ did I get a fat bill every time I needed the ambulance service?
