Universidad Adolfo Ibanez??? Bien o hay mejores???
I’m in the process of applying to go study abroad. However, my advisors have told me to investigate more amongst two universities in Valparaiso/Vina del Mar: La Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Valparaiso and Universidad Adolfo Ibanez. I am have been learning Spanish for 6 years combined and have recently just returned from Guadalajara en August and did a 6 week summer semester in Valparaiso at PUCV.
However, my goal this time is to better my abilities in Spanish even more and perhaps do an internship affiliated with the school. Therefore, of those who are familiar with these two schools which one would you say is more beneficial to me in terms of education? Furthermore, which one would there be less gringos attending? What is the type of instruction in the classroom, for example pure lecture or is it more interactive (questions and answers). The two schools offer programs with Chilean students which is what I want.

Yes. La Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Valparaiso (PUCV) is a prestigious university….and I have studied there before. However, the programs that they offer there for international students in Spanish only require 4 semesters of college Spanish for the most advanced Spanish classes, while as those of Universidad Adolfo Ibanez require that one has taken 5 semesters or more. This is why I am asking about UAI because they also offer courses in literature and history in Spanish. Which is what I need.

The Best is the Pontificia Universidad Catolica De Chile, because U. Adolfo Ibañez is University of Economy.
